Here at Swindon School of Gymnastics we take your privacy seriously and we will ensure all your personal information is kept secure.
With our team of Volunteer coaches, we provide gymnastic activities and are registered with both British Gymnastics and South West Gymnastics, they govern the sport of gymnastics and offer competitions and events in which we can participate.
How we use the information we hold about you
We need to process information about you or your child for the following reasons:
• Contractual purposes To provide the gymnastics activity your child/you participate in, to communicate with you about this activity, to communicate changes to our terms and conditions and to process payments (if relevant).

• Legitimate interests To meet the legitimate aims of Swindon School of Gymnastics and ensure that all gymnasts are well supported and safe whilst participating in gymnastics. This includes:

Carrying out any relevant risk assessments:
Some individuals may have a medical condition and may be a risk or be harmed, from participating in gymnastics. It is vital that you share any relevant medical information. We will ask for your agreement to undertake any appropriate assessments.

Identifying any reasonable adjustments and adaptations to support inclusion:
If you or your child has a disability or any special needs, we will review the information you have provided to help us identify any actions we can take to support their inclusion in gymnastics. We may need to ask you for more information to help us in this process.

Responding to any comments, questions or complaints you may send us.

Maintaining class attendance records and contact details for emergency purposes.

Filming and taking photos for coaching purposes and/or to promote the club on our website, club social media account and in communications. All film and photos of children will only be published in line with our safeguarding policy. You have the right to object to any of the above uses of your information by contacting us directly.

• Legal reasons To comply with applicable laws and protect legitimate club interests and legal rights. This includes, but, is not limited to the use of your information relating to legal claims and compliance and regulatory activity.

• Marketing With your consent, we may send you information by email, SMS or via social media about club news, activities, products and opportunities that we think will be of interest to you. You
can ask us to stop sending you this information at any point by email to

Information Sharing

We will not share your information with any other organisations except with your consent or in exceptional/emergency circumstances where we believe that the sharing of information about you is vital to protect you, your child or another person.

If you/your child want to enter a competition provided by an external organisation, we will, with your agreement, share the required information to enter the event, usually your name, date of birth, gender and BG number. Most competitions are large events and there is likely to be photographers and people filming.

Individual rights You have the right to see the personal information we hold about you. You can contact us at any time to view/amend/delete the information we hold about you on our system. You can request a copy of any other information we hold on you/your child by writing to us. Its is parents/your responsibility to keep us informed of any changes to the personal information we hold.

If we do hold other information about you, you can ask us to delete it or correct any inaccuracies. We will either make the requested amendments, if this is not possible we will provide an explanation as to why we are not making changes.

If you leave our club, you can amend your British Gymnastics membership by logging into ‘My Account’. If you do this, the information you have provided will be archived for 60 days. During this period, you can transfer your information to another club. After this period, the information you have provided will be deleted, except where there is a legitimate and lawful reason to continue to hold your data. In the absence of a legitimate and lawful reason to retain any other information we hold about you, this will be deleted after 12 months, unless you re-join the club within that period.

At Swindon School of Gymnastics, we keep our privacy notices under regular review. This privacy notice was last updated on March 25th, 2018.

The breakfast club will be open on Saturday mornings from 8:30am till 12:30pm

             The Cafe is run by volunteers and the money raised goes to new equipment and         maintenance of the gym.

We need more help for the Café to run smoothly every week.

Fee/Insurance Info


Fees are paid TERMLY in advance. The amount is determined by the number of hours each gymnast attends. Fees are paid in advance before the end of term to reserve your child/children’s place for the next term. Included within the fees: – SSG Club Membership; occasional Newsletters; 1 competition entry for SSG Annual Club Competition, which includes 1 free raffle ticket.

 BG Membership/Insurance – rates for 2017/18

This compulsory fee is paid annually and covers the period 1st October – 30th September, this year’s rates are £17.00 for non-competitive gymnasts and £41.00 for Competitive gymnasts. Preschool Insurance is £11.00. SSG sends your full insurance payment to British Gymnastics Head Office in Lilleshall (All insurance for 2017/18 remains at last year’s rates).


Last sessions of the year are on Thursday 14th December.   


First sessions of 2018 are on Thursday 4th January.

Unless the coach informs you otherwise, we do not stop for half terms.

The recreational side of the club (once/twice a week gymnasts) stop for a summer break as per the school holidays. However, some gymnasts may be offered extra sessions at the coaches discretion. PLEASE DO NOT PUT PRESSURE ON YOUR CHILD’S COACH, REMEMBER THEY ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS.

Swindon School of Gymnastics Ltd have been established for over 38 years, we have produced many National Squad Gymnasts and Regional Champions in both the boys and girls disciplines. We are the only Club in North Wiltshire to offer Artistic Gymnastics to both boys and girls, and to have a 10 meter sprung floor. Continue reading

Volunteers and Sponsors

We have got a fantastic Fundraising Team, but as the Club is a registered Charity (number 1067061) we still thrive on volunteers to help us and are always seeking sponsors or donations. Even if its just a quick tidy whilst your gymnast is in training, it all helps. We are all involved in some way and can all contribute to the well being of the club.
